Hello everyone,
Today, while I was at work, someone did something that annoys me to know end. It made me think of pet peeves, and I just wanted to share a few of mine with you, and hear about some of yours too.
As i said, i was at work, and someone kept constantly popping their gum. I can't stand that! I also can't stand it when a girl talks like a valleygirl. Another one is when you go out to a restaurant, store, etc. and people let their children run around, scream and carry on. I think that is so rude and disrespectful.
So anyway, there's a few of my pet peeves. I'll post some more later, but I'd also like to know, what are some of your pet peeves?

Well my top irritation has to be english sports commentators, who ram their alligence down everyone's throat, regardless of whether they are at all interested.
people who treat my physically disabled friends, as though the are devoid of intelligence. people who run down the Scottish Rugby team..they are a young side give them time!.

Pet peeves ... people who'll start picking on others for any stupid little thing! Um, what else? Arg, it really bugs me when my roommate doesn't put things back where they belong. Or when people call my cell phone, over and over and over again, and don't get the hint that I'm not answering the damned phone because it's before 9:00 PM! Pretentious little bastards who think they're hot stuff, even though they're not. Oh, and girls who seem to have issues with their ex-boyfriends possibly being interested/talking to other girls, when said girls have boyfriends ... (Hope that made sense.) I'll post more of them as I think of them. That's all for now.

people who respond to bad news with, "you're kidding" and morerecently, people who want you in their address book just so they can send forwards or attachments, people who want total quiet when they're not up to par, by this I don't mean people who don't want to talk, I just write them off, I mean people who don't want any noise, period, and don't want you to even talk to anyone else, people who pm you like they really want to talk, then just drop you without saying, I have to go, after you went to all that trouble to turn qns on, multitaskers who think they're better multitaskers than they really are, but who keep you hanging for ten minutes or over each time. If they're good enough so there is no lag, or hardly any lag, it doesn't bother me, but when they take very long periods, it's boring and frustrating. I'm not talking about if I message them first, I'm talking about if they are the ones who message me first, then do it. I can usually hold 2 text conversations at once, because there is enough lag between one text message and another, but I can't hold a text chat and a voice chat at once, and if I feel I can't keep up, I will say so, and let someone go. People who are rude and insulting, all in the name of joking. There's a difference between good natured picking with someone, but that's far different than picking on someone.

Hmm the dragon's pet peeves. how in the world to say nicely. when toolboxes pet my dog even after reading the sign, the war on terror the war on drugs, asking someone to do something you wouldn't do for the other person, people who complain about trivial things, close minded people, girls who don't say what they mean, guys who don't say what they mean, hind sight, people who don't keep their nose on their own face, people who ask you to only taste the nasty stuff after they already tried it, strangers who cough and don't cover their mouths, people who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, and last but not least, people, who, complain, about, trivial, things.
*laughs* Nice ones, DF ... a few of the made me chuckle 'cause I know what you mean about people who ask you to do something that they wouldn't do. Hehehehe.

Totally agree DF, lol. I think possibly the thing that does annoy me most, is asking someone what's wrong, and having them say nothing, when you know damn well that's not the case. Ah, and the other thing is, people who do brilliantly at everything they try with out trying to do well at all.
Or how about when people who know they do well do well but complain that they didn't do well enough?
Hmm, I can see why some would find that annoying, but I think that's just insecurity, not meaning to be annoying, but I see your point. I do this, I'll admit it...
Haha, yes, people who don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, annoys me too. And, I completely understand how it feels to have people pet your dog, even after they read the "Do Not Pet Me, I'm Working" sign. That aggravates me too!
Mine would be people who talk bad about or are directly mean to certain people all the time, people who are rude in asking for/requesting something, people who seem to always care more about themselves than their families, people who talk to me like a little kid or to the person that happens to be walking with me instead of to me, and people who sound mad or rude when their job involves working with/talking to other people.
hehe but danielle, sometimes they are wrong, and that in itself can be anoying when someone persists that there msut be something up with you when ina ctual fact there isn't. Lets see what are mine. People who think it's their right to get involved in other peoples business, gossips. people who betray your trust, or who act one way to you and then another when your not around. people inforcing their own expectations on me. Closed mindedness, negativity, moodyness, my brother is a killer for that And we fight about it all the time. Patrenising customer service staff, computerised automated phone systems, late trains. public transport stuff ups. Assumptions. that's enough to be going on with.
Yeh, the don't touch the dog one is my new one after last night. This guy comes up to me an goes, sorry I know i shouldn't, but then proceeds to stroke her anyway. I was like, well, if you know you shouldn't, can you not thank you? Hehehehe, think he was a bit put out...
Oo, gossips is another one of my pet peeves, Krystel! Arg. Oh, and it really bugs me when people are thin enough already and they talk about losing even more weight. I think people should feel insecure about being scrawny, not fat.

Gosh, you guys have added so many that i agree with. I hate it when someone talks to me like I'm a child, or asks someone a question, when I am perfectly able and capable of answering for myself. That aggravates me to know end. Some of my biggest pet peeves, are people who are rude, uncaring, selfish, inconsiderate, liars, cheaters, users, players... I think you get the message. It's just unfortunate that there are many people out there in this world, who are like that.
well, um, as for people who say, nothing, when you ask what's wrong, that would sort of annoy me, but then, if someone I didn't like or consider a friend asked me whats' wrong, I might would have to say, nothing, rather than be mean and say something like, none of your business, or you're not someone I'd discuss it with, or something like that. Another pet peeve is when I tell someone how I feel, and I'm told something like, you shouldn't feel that way, or you're not suppose to feel that way. I've been in situations where logically, I knew one thing, but emotionally I felt something else, in cases like that, you have feelings and logicwarring with each other.Also, people who start off seeming nice, then turning out to be something else, people who act like they agree with me on something, then when when the majority say something else, they do and say the complete opposite from what they said to me.

My two biggest are, Patronising people, and people who say they'll do something when they don't.
right, that one is a big pet peeve of mine too, they should do it if they say they will, or not even bring it up.

People who take sides before looking at the other person's side, but I guess I just did that, but it still makes me mad. And then there are the people who say "that's so retarded" and "that's so gay" and things like that just to sound cool. I don't know...also putting down other cultures.
How about just people in general. Hahahahahaha!

I was kind of half-kidding, but I suppose there's a point in there someplace. Anyhow, sometimes idealists can get on my nerves, and I know of what I speak because I used to be one in the worst way. Can't say I have much sympathy for people with very extreme but narrow and oversimplified views on life either, and I'm no fan of sore losers. Don't get me started about any kind of self-righteous person either, and I don't care what position they take. I'd suppose there's more, but it's late and this old brain is tired.
hmmmmm, pedanticness, the lack of awhereness, people who think that cane users are less independent than people with guide dogs, the melbourne public transport system [using buggies to transport blind people] and the fact that George Bush exists.
hmmmm, that's all for now, but i'm sure to come up with more.
MY pet peeves are people who talk constantly and don't let you get a word in, people who are talking loud when I am trying to listen to a show on TV, people who litterally always complain about their circumstances especially when they knew what they were getting into, and people who constantly ask for confirmation of their feelings or reassurance. Now if this happens once in awhile, I don't mind it, but this is when it's a constant thing when one person keeps doing these things.

Oh, looky! I have more. People who play the victim because they either didn't get their way or feel persecuted merely because they were criticized, as if they should never be criticized or even disagreed with merely because they are breathing. And to go along with that, people who assume people are hostile or hateful towards them because they disagree with that person. People who think that they should never be inconvenienced because they see themselves as a majority. People who dish it out but can never take it if it's given back to them.
damn agree for people petting my dog... people who insist she can't enter in their shop or whatever else even after you explained hundred times that she can, and when you show them the card saying that there's a law that allows them to go to every public places they don't even look at it! people who give her food and then ask, can I give her something? people who let their dangerous dogs run free and when they attack your guide dog they appear after like 20 minutes all they say is I'm sorry,I left the door open and I didn't notice someone was coming...people that when you are with someone ask them things for you, like when you are in a restaurant they ask what does she want? and. attention whores, people who insult others and call them stupid idiot and worthless retards cause they do some little things wrong, people who needs to feel they are better than others. my mother. people who don't accept you are not interested in them and keep calling you 24 7 to try to make you change your mind. people who needs to be exactly where you are, always. do all the same things you do, always. pretend they think exactly the same things you think, always. people who don't let you stay with others because they want you to stay with them, but they don't do anything or go anywhere cause they can't, they are blind, so no run, no walk alone, no doing any damn thing on their own, and they want you there with them so you can say goodbye to your friends and all the things you wanted to do cause if you leave them they take offense from it and go wining to others. people who when they go wining to them say they are right. people who think they should get everything they want without doing a damn thing to get it, maybe taking it away from who deserves it. ok I'm done now. not sure some things on here make sense, but they are just happening to me in these days so I needed to rant about it.
AND... people who move things - and don't put them back !! Especially MY things PARTICULARLY when the things are in MY room !!!!
wow tinkerbelle, I agree with you about people who talk and talk and talk and don't let you get a word in. Maybe we can talk about chat room peaves? it's hard to deal with people who are so engrossed in their thing, that when you speak, it just goes right over them so you might as well not have said it. On the other hand, my pet peave is the opposite too. Of course mostly, people who only answer in monosylables, like it'd kill them if they said anymore. People who think the majority of people are important, and the minority don't matter. Like vip conduits decision to make most of the rooms on their site for broad band users, simply because there are only a handful who still have dial up. well guess that's about it for now, maybe I'll think of more later.
